A new band provides Iona’s next Song of the Week. They hail from Petoskey, Michigan, and the band comprises four childhood friends. Having formed a band they started to garner attention back in 2016.
Their debut album was delivered two years later and they then dropped their second in 2021. And so, in 2024, we encountered their third platter, Waving from the Sea, which instantly drew our attention. The vocals, we presume by Graham Young on guitar, are sufficiently noteworthy to grab our attention, and the band is lugubrious in their layering of tunes. However, what attracted our attention was the keyboards. The fellow responsible for this magic is Christian Wilder, and although his work is not to the fore on this track, it is still a seminal part of the song, subtle but ‘out there’!
It is always great to find new, current musicians who ‘float our boat’ and these lads certainly fit that category! So, here it is, I’ll be here Tomorrow by Michigan Rattlers:
