It is that time of year again when we take a quick look back over the past twelve months, and what a great time we had.
It started just after my birthday when we headed to Ben Lawers and Cannick in late April once the local lockdowns had been lifted. Next up, during May and June, we took a long trip taking in the likes of the Kyle Penninsula, the Isle of Colonsay, the Isle of Skye, the Isles of Harris and Lewis, Golspie, Brora and Cannick. Fantastic!
Then in July, we headed south via Galloway to Wales, where we enjoyed great weather and fabulous scenery. The trip culminated with a couple of visits to friends down there. Then August and early September saw us visit Perthshire, Inverness-shire and ending up in Burghead and Forvie in Morayshire.
Next up in late September, we popped into Brora, Wick, Thurso, Dunnet Head, Balintore, Dalwhinnie and Glen Douglas. All great locations and all more or less on a direct road north of Glasgow. Then October saw us venture north again to Dalwhinnie, Fort William, Inverness and Ullapool, a west coast bias as the NC500 was cooling down a bit by then!
That brought us to our penultimate trip of the year in early November, during which we visited Tarbet, Loch Earn, Dunkeld, Peebles, Glencaple and Dalbeattie, a lovely circular tour clockwise around Glasgow! The final venture was a long weekend just north of Glasgow, during which we stopped off in Dunkeld, Dalwhinnie and Pitlochry, before heading home to prepare for Christmas and the New Year. Oh, and lest we forget, this is the trip when we nearly “buried” the drone!!
We want to thank you all for supporting us on our trips, and as we head towards the end of the year, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas/Holiday and a Happy New Year when they arrive.
Please drop in again soon to see where we get to in 2022!
One final thought, this concluded our first year on the road without our trusty sidekick and eternal pal, Wee Tashi. As we toast the bells this year we shall raise a glass to the wee fella, too. RIP mucker xx
Enjoyed reading and hearing about your trips and adventures, hopefully many more to come next year. Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to you both and catch up soon (probably February) Took me a few moments to notice that it was yourself in the Santa costume next to the van. 😉🎅😉🍻🍻
