As day follows night, death follows life, so spring follows winter! Thus, we are heading back out on the road again in 2022. (Although, in truth, we have already had a couple of “sneaky wee weekends” away in Iona this year!)
As usual, the big decision was “right of left when we leave the house”, and this time, it was “right” and up out of Glasgow along the Great Western Road heading to Loch Lomond. En route, we stopped just south of Tyndrum to check out a community car park which would have been ideal had we not had as much rain as we have had recently. But unfortunately, the ground underfoot was predominantly wet and muddy. So we headed further north to Bridge of Orchy, where we parked up for the night, adjacent to the hotel and set “up camp”.
Having had a delightful meal and a few pints of Harviestoun ale, all overseen by the ever welcoming barman, Nico, we are now settled in Iona and set for a few days out on the road in northwest Scotland. Glasses chinked to the start of another enjoyable year in our delightful country.......
Looking forward to comparing notes on your favoured geographical locations.
Catch up soon I hope?
Heading South a fair bit currently (e.g. Dorset, The Cotswolds ..) but looking forward to being North of Dundee a fair bit before too long. Both coasts and along the top - and over to Orkmey, Shetland, Lewis, Harris and beyond!!!! : )
Keep well my good friends xx
Enjoy your trip - and hope you avoid the storms this time!!!
